Netra Darshak Award Dr. Sundar Ram Shetty was honored with the Netra Darshak Award at the 3rd Rotary National Conference on Community Ophthalmology for his selfless dedication and exemplary service as a lead surgeon. He was recognized for successfully performing cataract surgeries in Nigeria (March 15–23, 2025) and his ongoing humanitarian efforts in community ophthalmology as he continues to bring the gift of sight to those in need.

Indian surgeons conduct free eye surgeries
in Nigeria, Ghana Three senior surgeons from the state carried out free eye surgeries in Nigeria and Ghana. As part of a drive,
Dr. Sundar Ram Shetty, Dr. Ravishankar Venkatasubbaiah & Dr. Vasanth Kumar also trained eight local eye surgeons and an anaesthesiologist in the foreign countries in a bid to im-prove the quality of medical care. Read the article

Founded in 1995 by Dr. Sundar Ram Shetty, the Globe Eye Foundation is a registered and non-profit organization. It has been delivering Eye care services through its Eye Hospitals. The first hospital at Hosakote, a rural town near Bangalore, was
established in 1996.
